Climate Chaos is a term that captures the capricious disruptions and profound transformations in the arguably stable and reliable climatic arrangements that humans have come to depend upon. It captures the idea of rapid destabilization of climatic foundations, leading to confusion and uncertainty, as well as the need for swift adaptation and creative co-operation. The term is often used in the post-normal science discourse to indicate that the climate crisis has progressed and mutated beyond the boundaries of what "normal" models of analytical and responded to positions can capture and respond to adequately. In essence, Climate Chaos implies that our collective climate destiny is unpredictable, and demands an entirely new approach of improvisation, collective creativity and selflessness to navigate.
